July 31 NBC's Peer to PeerI just installed NBC's "NBC's Direct" for downloading their videos. The funny thing is I have to pay for bandwidth and I'm sure at some point all ISPs pay for bandwidth. So how does a company that is making money off of me downloading their content get away with using my (ISPs) bandwidth for free? NBC is running their own "bittorrent" network so I could be downloading from someone on Comcast instead of NBCs server (and bandwidth). I wonder when the ISPs will start requiring a piece of their revenues to pay for the bandwidth, can I send a bill to NBC? Any lawyers that would like a good case? Because I'm limited on my bandwidth I decided to opt out of the Peer to Peer network and went with just stand definition shows. Just some thoughts. April 18 Speed Tests for Sprint and WildBlueI've decided to take the plunge and picked up Sprint Broadband to see how it compares to WildBlue. I have been watching the Sprint Coverage maps and they upgraded a few towns around mine to EVDO Rev A so we have to be pretty close to getting it. For now it's only 1xrtt but I've gotten some good results for being on the outskirt of town. I think the towers only 3.5 miles away: Dennis December 29 My Thoughts on Live SpacesI've been playing around with Live Spaces to see all the tools that are useable, the Live Photo Gallery and Windows Live Writer. I've added some photos see how it all works. There's some photos of my daughters, the dog and then some scenery photos from a recent ice storm. I'm using Live Writer to see how it works and so far it's pretty cool. Now to post this and see what it looks like. Denny |
